In our first year, we’ve operated with a strong volunteer base and a modest budget. That will continue! In addition, in order to fulfill aspirations for 2022, we invite you to fund our work to strengthen local control. Contributions will pay for parttime work on the website, digital communication, marketing, and lobbying.
The state Legislature needs to compromise on the issue of housing. By overriding the California Constitution and passing numerous housing bills, it has put local control in jeopardy. Members of the Legislature approved the splitting of single-family lots and replacing our homes with two duplexes “by right.” That bypasses local control. And, to enforce this process, Attorney General Rob Bonta has created a “strike force” of lawyers.
